Read the Society of Old Farts of America Creed
This meat loaf will be the best you have ever tasted.
MEAT LOAF
1.5 lbs of beef, deer, antelope, elk or bison hamburger
1 lb of pork sausage.
2 eggs
1/2 cup finely ground bread crumbs
1 finely chopped onion
1tbsp of your favorite spices. (maybe basil or summer savory and some parsley.)
1 tsp salt
some pepper
THE KEY INGREDIENT: bottled hoisin sauce. (available in the Asian section at the supermarket.)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients except hoisin sauce in mixing bowl.
Using you hands, blend well. Shape the blended mix into an oval loaf and place in a baking dish. Spoon and spread about half a bottle of the hoisiin sauce over it. Bake for one hour. Top should be brown and glazed.
